Re: Team vs Newcastle
Payet has proved he can do the defensive stuff, and I'd much rather him in the middle pulling the strings with Lanzini and Moses out wide. More attacking options.

Kouyate Noble Obiang might be better away from home under pressure.

He'll be used barely, hopefully. We have better strikers. He's obviously signed as back up.

I am completely baffled as to why anyone would think that Obiang or Kouyate would be dropped.

Happy with that team.

No way is he going to drop Noble now, considering he's just been made club captain.

Re: Team vs Newcastle
I'll be a bit disappointed if Bilic drops either Tomkins or Noble if they are fit and ready to go, but other than that nearly every option has something creative going for it.

Which is nice.

Re: Team vs Newcastle
I'd go with DrTwinHammer's team with the exception of Carroll on the bench (if fit) rather than Collins

If there is a problem at CH, Tomkins can move into central defence & bring on Jenkinson

(What a great bench we have now!)

Moses looks like he's going to be very tubby when he retires from the game.

Re: Team vs Newcastle
It would be a little unfair to drop Lanzini and we have players we can bring on later with pace and power so if we need it might be better to bring Antonio on after an hour. Not sure how match fit Moses will be but he could come on later too.

I think Tomkins should stay in the team over Jenkinson.

Our own "Toure", Wily Kouyate should be one of the first names down on the sheet.

Re: Team vs Newcastle
With quite a few new signings that good thing is that Newcastle won't have much of an idea how will line for this one.
Personally, I'd replace Kouyate with Antonio and have him Lanzini providing some width, with Noble and Obiang sitting.
Antonio is in hot form and should be full of confidence so I'd give him at least 45 mins to see if he can carry it into premier league.
Not sure Moses will be match sharp yet.

Choose those with pace and power, it's the modern game.

I disagree keep dreaming the width is an issue at home
